Aphanitic
In aphanitic texture, individual crystals are so small that they cannot be seen without a microscope. Rocks with this texture appear to be massive and textureless. However, when a thin section of an aphanitic rock is viewed under a microscope, its crystalline structure is readily apparent. The rock is seen to be composed of numerous small crystals.
