| In phaneritic textures, individual crystals are large enough to see with the unaided eye. The grains in a rock specimen will all be approximately the same size and form an interlocking mosaic. The size of the crystals can range from being barely visible to crystals of more than an inch in size. Phaneritic texture developes from magmas that cooled very slowly. If the crystals are extremely large, well over an inch in size, the rock can be said to have a PEGMATITIC texture. | |||
