AUGITE ( Association of Undergraduate Geologists in Industry, Technology and Education) was founded in 1992 in order to provide students, faculty, and those working in the geological field a club in which to plan special events, coordinate field trip activities, and as a social gathering of all with an interest in the geological sciences. Since AUGITE was founded, it has been a very active club on campus, with several major trips, guest speakers, and student/faculty social get togethers. Photographs of past field trips are included on the field trips page.

AUGITE members take part in community outreach projects such as providing programming and materials for the Boy Scout Geology badge requirement, sponsorship of public guest speakers, and members regularily undertaking fundraising activities to support field trip expenses.
