| B.A., Geology, Art, Minot State University, 1994 M.A., Museum Science, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, 1997 Guy Hanley is the Cyril Moore Science Center Curator of Collections. He specializes in scientific collections curation / management, with emphasis in entomology, paleontology, and biological specimen preparation. Besides caring for the numerous collections held by the CMSC, he also develops all exhibits in the CMSC museum, provides technical support for the Division of Science, and is the administrator of the CMSC Webserver. Guy's research projects include faunal studies of North Dakota Coleoptera, skeletal preparation methods, and digital imaging techniques for use in scientific publication. Guy worked extensively with Dr. Ron Royer, providing all prepared butterfly specimen images in digital format for the second edition of the "Butterflies of North Dakota." and has authored the third and fourth science monograph for the Division of Science titled respectively "Cerambycidae of North Dakota" and "The Carrion beetles of North Dakota". Other active projects include a faunal study of ground dwelling Coleoptera caught during operation of a large herpetological drift fence array, and baseline coleopteran surveys for the Minot Forestry Department. Guy is the local investigator for the national Emerald Ash Borer survey, conducted by USDA/APHIS, and is a contributing editor to the BugGuide website Guy's teaching experience includes environmental and physical geology labs, entomology, and numerous presentations to other campus classes. Guy has served on the North Central Science Olympiad and North Dakota Science teachers annual meeting planning committees, He currently serves on the Minot Forestry Department advisory committee and as an advisor for AUGITE, the Minot State geology club. Guy's other interests besides insect collecting include furniture construction and refinishing, home remodeling, and target archery.
