| Since joining the faculty in 1985, Dr. Royer has taught a wide variety of both graduate and undergraduate courses. He has also directed numerous grant programs, including eight Eisenhower Math and Science Act projects during the period 1987-1995. Since then he has concentrated his efforts on a number of field projects for such agencies as the National Park Service, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U. S. Forest Service, National Biological Survey, and U. S. Geological Survey. Since coming to Minot State University he has been continuously a member of the North Dakota Science Teachers Association and has served on many other professional science education committees, including both education and executive committees of the North Dakota Academy of Science and the executive board of the North Dakota Natural Science Society. He is a member of the Lepidopterists' Society, the Xerces Society, and Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. Since 1988 he has served the North Dakota Educational Standards and Practices Board on a number of examination teams for Teacher Education programs in North Dakota, five of which he has chaired. For 12 years he edited and produced the Dakota Science Teacher, a statewide semi-annual NSTA-affiliated science education journal.
